Marci Thompson always knew what life would be like by her thirtieth birthday: a large but cozy suburban home with a charming husband and two brilliant children, a celebrated writing career, a life of adventure with friends and family nearby. Instead, Marci lives alone in a converted motel next to a punk rock band, hundreds of miles from friends and family.
